The railroad passing by the property was completed by the Shenandoah railroad in 1867. The tunnel on the property is believed to be that old. Although, the train does not whistle as it passes by, you can hear it’s power throughout the property. It is a sight to see and very enjoyable.
Driving down a private driveway .6 miles off Grove Hill River Road (keep left) through the hundred foot railroad tunnel you enter the 35 acre property. Follow the driveway up the hill to the unusual home nestled in a hollow in the middle of the woods.
The three trails crisscrossing the property allow you to enjoy the forest and it’s mountain view!
